Modem - hardware that lets your computer surf the Internet via standard telephone lines. Web pages, email, faxes (fax software is a must) are what you would send/receive via the modem.

Embedded video/audio - the sound and video card are built onto the main board, rather than using plug in cards.

Optical Disk - In addition to hard & floppy disk drives, optical drive might be a read only device like CD - R / DVD - R, rewriteable drive as in D-RW, DVD-RW drive or Combo drive which integrates several different optical drives into one device.
