Kibokin

Kibokin is the New West country noir sound, as interpreted by Lincoln, a six-pack of Londoners, reflective and blowing sweet rapture on the brass. Over five songs, and four interludes of found crowd sound, the Ryan Adams-influenced sextet carve out their own melancholy groove on their second mini album, creating a series of Morricone-style soundscapes while simultaneously recreating the feel of an intimate bar setting. Tracy Van Daal's languid, graceful vocals on the "Drowning In Flame" are perfectly offset by the mourning mariachi on the trombone and trumpets, while main singer Alex Gordon sounds like the wastrel kin of Tindersticks' Stuart Staples on "Little Mistakes".
