Thomas the Really Useful Engine is part of LeapFrog's range of interactive books that are designed to be used with their LeapPad Learning System. The pack contains a spiral-bound book and a cartridge. Simply slot both the book and the cartridge into the appropriate areas on the LeapPad and you're ready to start. This title is recommended for children at the LeapStart stage of the LeapPad library, which is children up to five years old. and proves to everyone what a really useful engine he can be. Fans of Thomas and friends will be comfortable with the bold, bright images that perfectly replicate the characters they know so well from books and TV. The LeapPad comes with a special touch-sensitive pen--follow the story by using it to touch the words on the page. Parents will love the fact that as children read on, using the "magic pen", they will build basic skills: story comprehension, vocabulary, character comprehension, social skills and manners, logic and deductive reasoning. Thomas: The Really Useful Engine will entertain pre-school children, and is designed, with the LeapPad, to build reading confidence. Read it together, and enjoy! --Susan Naylor
