cards that gives them the right to try and solve a clue. This involves the reading of the clue card, then a race against the sand timer to find the hidden counter. Meanwhile characters of the opposite disposition (i.e., good, evil) roll the die and try to become a chaser, who hunts down the original searcher trying to get to them before they can uncover the counter. An added element involves the switching on, or off of lights depending on whether you are searcher or chaser. It does lead to the overexcitement warned of and pandemonium can rule, making this an ideal party game for smaller gatherings. The Mummy is a well presented board game, with simple rules that are easy to get to grips with. It provides a lot of fun, but the required set-up time beforehand by an adult and the mayhem of children running about the house chasing down clues and each other, may put some off. --Heather Wilson
